I was there at six:thirty in the morning. I was squatting. Now, I'm definitely not the greatest or strongest guy on earth. However compared to the majority of fitness center goes, sometimes I stick out.
On this case I was doing sets of five with 365 lbs. Again, they are not world-beating numbers by any stretch from the imagination. However back As soon as I was 19 I weighed The whopping 137 lbs soaking wet & I was weak like a kitten. So I'm pretty happy with my progress.
Anyway, so It's early morning & I'm squatting. This guy watches me finish my set, walks up to me & says...
So are u The professional athlete?
I simply finished my set, I'm gasping for air.
He continues: I mean, do u play football or something?
I told him, no I'm not The pro athlete & I don't play football.
He continues:
It's simply that I have never seen anybody go that deep in their squats with that much weight before.
I thanked him for the compliment, we chatted for some minutes around the fitness center (these people had simply put in a few new equipment.) After that he left & I went back to squatting.
However the conversation stuck with me. Due to the fact it made me realize u don't have get super strong or super ripped to stick out. If u could simply obtain a few basic strength levels - such as squatting double your human body weight - u can appear almost superhuman to the average person about the street.
& that's the great thing concerning "old school" preparation. It delivers the effects. While the rest from the fitness center crowd appears exactly the same week after week, 30 days after 30 days, & year after year - u could literally change your entire human body & make people notice u in simply some short weeks.
So if u are tired of spinning your wheels with modern preparation methods & modern machines, maybe It's time u turned back the clock & started preparation such as the old time trainers.
